Our commitment to recycling and environmental responsibility is unwavering. That’s why we are one of the largest secondary recyclers in the world, and one of the few companies with the ability to provide Total Battery Management, also known as closed loop recycling. That process frees customers from the burden of handling spent batteries in their own facilities.
Recycling recovers 99% of all lead received at our recycling centers. Every year we recycle millions of pounds of lead and recover and neutralize millions of gallons of sulfuric acid. Our robust, highly controlled recycling process is a critical part of our global commitment to environmental sustainability.

Our Environmental Partners
The Association of Battery Recyclers (ABR) represents companies that recycle spent lead batteries in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. We turn spent batteries into lead metal, plastic and sodium sulfate, which are used to manufacture new lead batteries and other useful products.
Battery Council International (BCI) is a not-for-profit trade association formed to promote the interests of an international battery industry. BCI has more than 190 members worldwide engaged in every facet of the industry. Included are lead battery manufacturers and recyclers, marketers and retailers, suppliers of raw materials and equipment, plus expert industry consultants.
Essential Energy Everyday is a joint initiative of Battery Council International and the International Lead Association to increase awareness about the importance of lead batteries in powering our daily lives and future.
