Exide Makes a Splash with the Launch of New Marine Battery
Exide is first to offer innovative EFB technology to the North America Aftermarket
Las Vegas, Nevada – October 30, 2018 – Exide Technologies (www.exide.com) announced today the launch of its first to market Marine Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB) at the AAPEX 2018 show in Las Vegas Oct. 30 – Nov. 1. Exide’s Nautilus® EFB provides a new maintenance free battery design with improved cycling and greater durability to meet the increasing electrical demands in modern marine applications all with an industry leading 2-year warranty.
The new Nautilus EFB is a dual purpose battery that can not only handle the engine’s starting needs but can also meet most marine enthusiast’s deep cycle requirements for typical fishing, entertainment and lighting accessories. These capabilities come with the same 2-year warranty as AGM batteries, but at a much more attractive price point for consumers.
“We are pleased to be the first to offer our customers this innovative EFB technology for marine applications” said Vic Koelsch, President and CEO of Exide Technologies. “Similar to the trend in the automotive industry, today’s boats are powering more electrical equipment and require a battery that can handle increased energy needs without compromising battery life or performance. Exide is committed to bringing new battery solutions like EFB to help our customers grow their business and meet the evolving needs of the market.”
The new Nautilus EFB batteries are designed for both Starting and Deep Cycle Marine and RV applications. The Nautilus EFB will initially be offered in both a group size 24 Dual Purpose and group size 27 Dual Purpose.
The new Nautilus EFB offering also features several of the Company’s recent product enhancements including LifeGrid™, which provides better performance and longer life and ErgoLock™, a new cover design with a strong, full-grip handle and all-new leak-resistant vent design. The handle of the ErgoLock cover design is especially useful for installation and portability. For more information about Exide’s new line of Nautilus EFB batteries, click here.
