Environment, Health & Safety

Kerry, what is your current position in Exide?

I’m the Safety Supervisor at the Salina, Kansas battery manufacturing facility. I perform safety training and inspections, and facilitate safety projects at our plant of around 700 employees.

How do you feel in the Company?

I have only been here since February of 2011, but in that time I have been fortunate to have been involved in many projects that have increased employee safety. Opportunities are always around where employee safety can be increased, and in most cases, it also improves quality and production.

What do you like most about working at Exide?

It may sound cliché, but it is the people. There is so much experience in this facility to draw upon. It is also great to work for a company who actually “walks the walk, and talks the talk” as far as safety goes. Safety is truly a priority at Exide.

What kind of things do you like to do in your time off?

I spend a lot of time camping, hiking and reading. I am also a blacksmith and do demonstrations at different festivals, celebrations and gatherings.

Would you like to send a message to the people interested in joining the Exide team?

If you want to work in a position where safety is number one, where your ideas are valued, your teamwork is appreciated, and you can feel appreciated for the hard work you do, then Exide is for you!

Thanks, Kerry.
